I work with busy professionals in and around Glasgow, Scotland. My clients have skills and abilities are resourcefull, creative and excell at what they do. They can normally handle difficult situations and unexpected challenges with ease. Occasionally they can use some additional support and they know when it is time to call in professional backup to help them through those situations. for some it is the following situations.
For some professionals it is an irrational fear. These might only occur in specific situations, or with specific people and have a knock on effect, the fear may make you freeze, go blank, lose control, feel uncomfortable, sick or make you want to run and hide. What causes your fear? Small rooms? Clients? Peers? Presenting to specific groups or people? Airports? Flying?
Public speaking can leave some professionals feeling powerless. deflated. Delivering training, speeches, presentations or public performances can create feelings of fear, stress, panic, anxiety and can leave you exposed to ridicule from others. For whatever reason the fear continues to get in your way. This can be totally frustrating causing a lack of confidence or motivation, leaving you unwilling to expose yourself to the situations that create the problem, leaving you stuck and this could affect your earnings, your self-esteem, and your job security.
You have a Fear of Flying. Flying is such an integrated part of life nowadays if you cant board without becoming totally stressed out then you may miss the opportunity to win business or promotion. You may also miss the chance of many enjoyable, exciting holiday breaks because you worry all the time about the flight or you cant even go to the airport.
You can't get recognition, promotion, the sale, contract or even the job. Despite the fact that you have the skills and abilities to do the job the fear and stress of interviews or speaking in front of people creates a heavy pressure on you, making you tired, confused or unproductive. This may leave you sounding weak or insincere. which could negatively effect you health. your wealth and your future prospects.
It is really important. Your all prepared, it is vitally important that you get it right, for yourself or your company, you know what you want to say and how you want to say it, you just want to ensure that winning edge.
It is an emergency! Okay the stuff is about to hit the fan. You are on the very edge of disaster, you are dangling by a thread, your career is about to disappear, you are skating on thin ice, you are going to have to put yourself in a position where, well maybe its going to hurt like...well, you know what. And you feel you do not deserve the pain, anxiety, stress, ridicule and discomfort that you will get going into this situation.
